Japanese quince - (Chaenomeles japonica)

The genus Chaenomeles includes shrub species widely appreciated for their blooms and ease of cultivation. The flowers appear in late winter, both before and alongside the emergence of the leaves, ranging in shades of red, pink, orange, and white.

Repeat-blooming and double-flowering varieties are also available.

Used as solitary specimens, in borders, or on slopes against walls.

At our Plant Center, we offer Chaenomeles japonica (formerly described under the name Cydonia japonica), a small shrub featuring brilliant flame-orange flowers. These are followed by round, fragrant yellow fruits.
