Philodendron - (Philodendron selloum)

A species native to South America.

The leaves reach remarkable sizes. It requires shaded or partially shaded environments, as it cannot tolerate direct sunlight. While not particularly demanding regarding soil types, special attention must be paid to avoiding waterlogging at all costs. During the warmer months, it should be watered regularly, although it can tolerate brief dry periods. Extremely sensitive to frost, it can only be grown as an indoor plant (with the exception of mild coastal regions, where it can be successfully cultivated outdoors under the shade of other trees).
