How we grow Holm oak in our nurseries

All Stages of Holm Oak Cultivation

Quercus ilex is widespread throughout the Mediterranean region and can be found from sea level up to over 600 meters. It is an evergreen oak that can live for up to a thousand years.

  1. Pruning: Pruning of the Quercus ilex is always done by hand and with great care.
  2. Root-balling: Root-balling of the Quercus ilex (see also the video of Quercus ilex root-balling).
  3. Transplanting: Transplanting of the Quercus ilex tree is carried out using specialized machinery.
  4. Transport: Transporting the Quercus ilex plant is handled with the utmost care and safety.

These last two operations are extremely delicate and are therefore executed with the primary goal of fully preserving the integrity of the plant itself.
